Carbon Management
In response to the global challenges of climate change and the greenhouse effect, our company has proactively conducted annual greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions since 2013. By closely monitoring our carbon emissions, we implement targeted actions such as electricity-saving measures, energy-efficient equipment procurement, power usage control, and employee education and awareness initiatives. These efforts aim to reduce GHG emissions and demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship.
Water Resource Management
To prevent the direct discharge of wastewater from our sites into the environment, our Hsin-Feng plant is equipped with wastewater treatment facilities. All process-generated wastewater is directed to on-site biological and chemical treatment tanks. After sedimentation and meeting national discharge standards, the treated water is released. The Quality Assurance department regularly samples and tests the water to ensure compliance. At our Taichung and Tainan (Plants I to IV) sites, located within industrial parks, wastewater is treated through centralized wastewater treatment systems provided by the park infrastructure.
Waste Management
For general domestic waste, we implement thorough waste segregation at designated sorting stations. Non-recyclable waste is handled by certified waste management providers and transported to incineration plants in accordance with local regulations. For industrial waste, disposal is carried out in accordance with our “Industrial Waste Management Plan” and is managed by qualified professional contractors. We also track and ensure the proper final disposal of all waste materials.
Chemical Substance Management
As a low-pollution industry, our company and facilities pose minimal environmental risks to surrounding communities. Toxic chemical substances are used only in research laboratories and are strictly regulated by assigned personnel in compliance with relevant government regulations. All processes involving hazardous chemicals are closely monitored, and related waste is handled exclusively by certified third-party vendors, ensuring safe and compliant disposal.
