Cenra Demonstrates Corporate Social Responsibility

24 Jun 2025

In a strong demonstration of corporate social responsibility, Cenra joined hands with the Taipei Blood Center on June 13 to host the blood donation campaign “Cenra in Action: Creating Hope Together”, in support of World Blood Donor Day. Despite heavy rainfall throughout the day, employees and members of the public showed overwhelming enthusiasm, donating 148 bags of blood, which was twice the usual amount collected. Deputy Manager and volunteer leader Ying-Long Hsieh remarked, “Even under unfavorable weather conditions, everyone took real action to safeguard Taiwan’s blood supply.

Since 2002, Cenra has continuously supported blood donation initiatives by providing essential supplies to encourage ublic participation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when blood reserves were critically low due to limited public mobility, Cenra proactively donated 100,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to assist the Taipei Blood Center in sustaining donation efforts. This year marks a meaningful milestone as Cenra transitions from being a material supporter to an action initiator, transforming its long-standing social commitment into direct community engagement.

The June 13 event took place at the Park Blood Donation Bus, where the heavy rain did not dampen spirits. While an average event usually attracts around 50 donors, this campaign saw over 115 participants, collecting 148 bags of blood—a new record for that location. Notably, more than ten participants were first-time donors, inspired by the volunteers’ warm guidance and encouragement, which helped many overcome their nervousness and take the first step toward saving lives.

Deputy Manager Hsieh attributed the success of the event to the commitment of Cenra’s volunteers and the company-sponsored appreciation gift bags prepared for participants. Volunteers actively assisted donors throughout the process, provided reminders about post-donation precautions, and offered health education information for the 48 hours following donation. Even in the pouring rain, volunteers stood by MRT exits and office entrances holding signboards and calling out to passersby, promoting the event with unyielding enthusiasm. Their persistence and passion deeply moved the public and encouraged more people to participate.

The campaign not only replenished Taiwan’s blood reserves but also significantly raised public awareness and willingness to donate. Deputy Manager Hsieh noted that the “Cenra in Action: Creating Hope Together” event was only the beginning. Additional blood drives will be held across Taiwan, including Taichung Blood Donation Center on September 23, Hsinchu Xinfeng Blood Donation Bus on November 10, and Kaohsiung Cenra Healthcare Office on December 17. With the continued support of Cenra’s volunteers and appreciation gift packs, the company aims to inspire even more people to contribute to society and maintain good personal health—because staying healthy enables you to donate blood, and donating blood helps save lives.

This employee-initiated initiative represents more than just the donation of a single bag of blood—it is the donation of hope. Moving forward, Cenra will continue to uphold its mission of promoting health equity and contributing to social well-being, steadfastly advancing on its path toward sustainable and meaningful community engagement.
